What is Blockchain?

Blockchain technology that fuels digital currencies, assets and commodities can be defined as a distributed database or a shared ledger (accounting) updated by consensus. A blockchain network can be public or private. If it works in a schema that anyone can read, use or change, it is called Open Blockchain, if it has restricted and controlled access to the system, it is called Private Blockchain.
