TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, Turkey's leading R&D center, hosted another important presentation within the scope of TechTalks Technology Meetings. On Friday, December 8, Dr. Taner Dursun, Head of Blockchain Technologies Department at the National Electronics and Cryptology Research Institute (UEKAE), made a presentation titled "The Present and Future of Blockchain in Turkey" at the event held at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Conference Hall.
In the presentation, Dr. Taner Dursun discussed the current state and future of blockchain technology in Turkey in detail. Emphasizing the importance of blockchain technology in the digitalization process, he explained why it emerged, the digitalization roadmap and the challenges of centralized systems.
He explained how blockchain technology enables secure transactions in the absence of a trusted third party. He explained with examples how blockchain technology can be used in many areas other than cryptocurrencies.
In the rest of the presentation, Dr. Taner Dursun focused on the challenges facing blockchain technology and solutions for its wider adoption in Turkey. Sharing details about TÜBİTAK BİLGEM's work on blockchain technology, Dr. Dursun drew attention to the importance of the Digital Turkish Lira, Digital Identity, Crypto Radar and Digital Asset Custody Systems projects.
After his speech, Dr. Dursun answered the questions from the participants and touched on the future of blockchain technology, security measures, regulation and similar issues in the question and answer section. He also drew attention to the need to support blockchain technology projects in Turkey and to raise awareness in this field.
