Turkey's emerging power in blockchain and crypto technologies has once again been recognized on an international stage. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory made its mark at the Istanbul Blockchain Week 2023 event by winning first place in the Hackathon competition.
This prestigious event took place on August 22-23, 2023, at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center and attracted industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and technology enthusiasts from around the world. Speakers including Sadullah UZUN, Vice President of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, delivered inspirational talks about the future of blockchain technology.
At this exciting event, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory participated in the Hackathon competition with their innovative project called "Inshurance," an ethical insurance system. This innovative project impressed the judges and was awarded first place. "Inshurance," as a blockchain-based product rooted in ethical finance, represents a promising step towards the future of the industry.
Istanbul Blockchain Week, organized by EAK Digital, a leading name in Web3 PR, Marketing, and Events worldwide since 2020, welcomed over 4,000 participants and hosted more than 100 thought leaders this year. Participants had the opportunity to connect with experts and peers from around the world and gain deeper insights into the future of the blockchain world.
Participants in the Hackathon competition were tasked with developing an Islamic-compliant blockchain-based product focusing on ethical finance. The TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory team successfully presented the "Inshurance" system using resources such as the HAQQ Blockchain Network and IslamicCoin.
