Turkey's rising power in blockchain and crypto technologies was once again recognized on an international platform. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory left its mark on the Istanbul Blockchain Week 2023 event with the first place it won in the Hackathon Competition.
Industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and technology enthusiasts from around the world flocked to this prestigious event held at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center on August 22-23, 2023. Speakers, including Sadullah UZUN, Vice President of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, gave inspiring speeches about the future of blockchain technology.
In this exciting event, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory participated in the Hackathon Competition with their ethical insurance system called "Inshurance". This innovative project impressed the jury and was awarded the first prize. "Inshurance," as a blockchain-based product based on ethical finance, was a promising step towards the future of the industry.
Held since 2020, Istanbul Blockchain Week is organized by EAK Digital, the leading name in Web3 PR, Marketing and Events worldwide. This year's event, Istanbul Blockchain 2023, welcomed over 4,000 attendees and more than 100 thought leaders. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with experts and peers from around the world and develop deeper insights into the future of blockchain.
In the Hackathon Competition, participants were expected to develop an Islamic-compliant blockchain-based product that addresses ethical finance. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory team, HAQQ Blockchain Network and IslamicCoin. successfully introduced the "Insurance" system with such resources. This success heralded an important innovation in areas such as ethical finance, social impact and contribution to finance.
This great achievement also underlines the rising role of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Blockchain Laboratory and Turkey in blockchain.
